Indonesia vs Singapore






Wallaa hi readers, my name is Putty Salwa and welcome back to my blog.
Now i will explain several difference education in my love country "Indonesia" vs another country "Singapore".
As we know that education in Indonesia is starting from 7 years old. And Indonesia has the policy obligation of learning during 12 years. Start from elementary school 6 years, junior high school 3 years, and senior high school 3 years. But different from Singapore the obligation of learning during 14 years. Starting from elementary school 6 years, junior high school-senior high school 5 years, and the last is prepared for enter to university. I don't know how the goverment consolidate junior high school with senior high scool but everytime i search information about education in Singapore i always find the same information.
The second one difference is from curriculum. As we know that Indonesia has National Examination for clarify that the student had graduated from the school. The National Examination done in the end of the levels for example if the education in 6 grade elementary school will be finish, the students do national examination to ride to the next level junior high school. National Examination also used as a requirement graduation the students in every levels. In national examination there are four lesson that Math, English, Bahasa, and Sciene but in senior high school Sciene replaced to a lesson accordance to major like IPA or IPS. Singapore also has National examination the name is "O" level test or Ordinary Level Test. This test not used as a requirement graduation the students. This test will be doing in junior high school. "O" level test there are seven lesson that English, Mother Tongue, Math, Sciene (Biology, Physic, Chemistry), Social (History, Geography, Social) and two lesson choice from Food and Nutrision, IT, Design and Technology. If the student can't get the value of the maximum then their will remain passed and the students still can continue to the next levels.
In Indonesia if the students get the value of minimum in national examination, the students must repeat this exam in "Paket B or C" and than the students will pass.

I just know a little bit difference between Indonesia vs Singapore. I hope blog can help the readers to know how the education in another country, the one is Singapore.

Naming Tradition in Padang's culture

Hallo guys, welcome back to my blog.  In the second blog, i will explain naming tradition from East Sumatera expecially my hometown "Padang" My father originally come from Padang, but my mother originally come from Cianjur or Sundanese. In Padang's culture, if you want to married, a man will be given new name from the clan his/her family. For example in my family. When my parent married, my father given new name from his family clan, but this name only for title or recognition that my mother's married and her official entrance into the family. The title not used in everyday life.  And vice versa, if the woman comes from Padang the man still given title from her family clan. All the title is same, it not used in everyday life. It is used when their married.
